Rachel Williamson was brought up in a household which practised yoga.

She herself began practising in her teens, inspired by the then-famous TV yogi, Richard Hittleman. Having been to university, and had various management jobs during the 1980s, she began to seriously study yoga about 10 years ago, and has regularly attended a variety of yoga classes during that time.

Since 2000 Rachel has been studying with Sarah Harris, who trained as a yoga teacher in India with Swami Hari Har Ji Mararaj. Sarah is her main teacher though she does attend other classes

In Dec 2002 she completed a yoga foundation course with the British Wheel of Yoga

Rachel formally studied to become a hatha yoga teacher with the Kevala Centre* in Wales, and completed the course in Dec 2008. She has a
Complementary Health Education Diploma in Yoga Teaching. (with Distinction)

She enjoys finding out about and practising many different forms of yoga, and aims to bring that variety of experience to her teaching. Rachel sincerely believes that yoga holds something for everyone and that everyone can “do” yoga.

Rachel also enjoys cooking, country walks, being with her family and finding out more about health and complementary therapies.

*Sadly, the Kevala Centre (founded in 1990) closed in Jan 2009 due to the difficult economic climate.
